We are not new to camping but finally have taken the plunge into the camper world!  It took some convincing from my end, but finally convinced the husband that sleeping off the ground was the way to go.....   After many months of comparing models, camper shows, and Internet surfing..... We finally decided on the 176t.  For us it offered large bunks for kids and their stuffed animals, tent end so the husband still felt like he was "camping", and I liked the storage for the smaller model!  I can't wait to scroll through the site for pointers and tips.... Always researching ideas

Welcome!  It was a big deal for us when we made the move from pop-up to our 177.  Do the majority of our camping in the shoulder months when I can get off work (April-May, September-October) when it tends to be wet, cold, rainy.  Hence wet canvas.  So like being enclosed in a dry, snug, environment.  Especially nice when we have seen snow on the ground and we sit inside, warm as toast and dry to boot.

I love my 2017 176t.  I did buy new mattresses online and they are way way better.  If you decided to do that, my advice to get one just a touch narrower than the one included so you can turn it sideways and sleep on the table with the lid shut.  When its real hot, the AC just can't do it with the tent open, but thats a personal preference.  The latest model of coleman grill fits under the bunk just fine.   It was really easy to install a tap on the trailer to hook the grill up.  After its first season here is what broke:

Slideout got lopsided and wouldn't open up in sync
Heater slid out
Tent disconnected from trailer on the top.  There is a thread on this forum how to repair that.
I lost my black tank drain completely hitting something.

You will be amazed at how poorly built trailers are.  Little stuff like some glue would go a real long way.  One thing, a box of drinks was able to slide under the sink in transit.  So when I tried to slide out, that box is what got the slide out cockeyed.   Get a rug for outdoors.. keeps the dirt out way better.  My task today is to change out the speakers to something that I could actually call a speaker.

What part of the country are you in?

Derek
