just a short summary of our trip to cocoa beach.  round trip was 2382 miles, average mpg was 13.1. took hub temps several times and was always between 90-95 degrees.   stayed at jetty park, actually quite nice and very quiet and secure.  major storm one evening and blew the dome off the keader rail. the dome blew up like a balloon and i guess couldnt handle the pressure.   no damage!!  lots and lots of traffic to and fro.  overall good and safe trip.  hogone

Hogone,

We were there in Feb before the 500, and checked out Jetty park.  It looked like a great place.   I liked the front gate to keep people out who didn't need to be there.

Did you eat at "Seafood Atlantic" nearby at the port?   They make the best crab cakes I've ever had by far.  The waitress told us the actual crab catcher guys and the cooks team up to make them and it was their specialty.  The dolphins were swimming around the outside deck where we had lunch.

Several other great seafood places are all lined up there, where the cruise ships come in at Port Canaveral, that we've tried over the last few years.  All worthy.

I'm from Wyoming but I try out the crab cakes at any sea food restaurant when in Florida and I try to eat nothing but sea food for a few days and skip  beef for awhile, and not quite get the gout from it all.   So far, so damn good.

Meet you next Feb for seafood lunch if you are at Jetty park right before the Daytona race.
Wink
