| BLM campgrounds are managed by the Bureau of Land Management, a federal agency under the Dept. of Interior. Other federally managed campgrounds include U.S. Forest Service, National Park Service, and Bureau of Reclamation. Most states have state-managed campgrounds as well. Yes, they are all public campgrounds...fees, amenities, rules, etc. will vary widely. |

In general, BLM camping IS boondocking. Often very low use camp grounds..
