I recently saw a checklist that said to check the breakaway battery charge level before each trip. I didn't know the breakaway switch had it's own battery. Where is it? How do I check the charge? All I see is the little box that the pin goes in.

The breakaway switch does not have a separate battery. The R-Pod's battery supplies the power.

That's what I always assumed. But in looking on eTrailer, the "breakaway kits" all include a charger (I assume to keep a dedicated breakaway battery charged?)

The R-Pod's switch is OEM. The "breakaway kits" on eTrailer are aftermarket. They don't necessarily have the same specificatons.

Some campers and some utility trailers have a separate battery. The Pod does not. It uses the main battery. The E-trailer kits are intended for those that have the separate battery. Just check the main battery on the Pod for water level and make sure it is fully charged overnight before you leave.
