We are ordering our new 177, but can't decide if you the dome is worth the work it takes to set up every time.
Should we order with the awning or the dome?
Please help us decide

We love the r-dome, it added a decent sized room to the rpod, we usually will set it up In 10 mins or less. We will then take our table out to the dome and set up chairs there. We have also set it up for the grand kids for extra room.

We don't set up the dome for a one or two day stop.  A little more effort than we care for for a short stay.  Maybe we'd do an awning in those cases, but I kind of doubt it.  We have one of those Coleman 11'x11' instant screen houses that we sometimes use for short stays.  The dome is great if you're going to be somewhere for more or less a week, especially if you have more than two people.  Even for two, it's great to have the extra room and a place to sit outside.

You will find that there are a lot of different opinions about the dome.  We had one, sold it and bought a Marti's awning.

For us the dome was just not functional.  We do not have pets or grand kids who need the extra space.  If we want to sit outside, we just go and sit outside; no dome required.  I found it incredibly difficult to  set   the small screen sections, across the bottom of the trailer,  that  are needed to make the set up bug proof.  Also, we usually camp at National Forest or National parks and more often than not, there is not enough room.

It just did not fit our camping style or needs.  And we love our awning.

Marti's web site is MartisAwnings.com.  I have one for my 179 and really like it.  It also helped that I have done business with Marti in the past and she is located about 2 miles from me.
