Hello fellow RPod owners.

Yesterday my wife and I picked up our new RPod 179.  After many years of using a Northstar pickup camper we decided to move up in the world.  The 179 rear kitchen with some good counter space and a small slide out is very spacious compared to the pickup camper.  We are also putting on a fiberglass topper on our pickup to haul our bicycles and cycling gear.

This April we will be traveling to Big Bend National Park with friends from Midland, Texas.  In July we will be heading to Kansas City for the total eclipse of the sun and then on to Tetons, Glacier, Banff, and Jasper.  Some major traveling this year.

Isn't retirement great?

Welcome, Yes it is, I retired in DEC of 16. Over 40 years of military and government civilian time. Only thing that affects my project time is weather:) Have many projects, but all something I enjoy. My wife really likes the 179, I have a 178 I have spent a lot of time on so I'm not inclined to switch just yet. She may convince me at some time.

Joe and Eileen, Welcome to the group!!   My wife and I bought a 2016 179 last fall, and love it. We also had a Northstar pickup camper, and used it so much, I'm sure it cost me less than a dollar/day to own it. We had been without a camper until we purchased the 179. Sounds like you have lots of great trips lined up. Ours will also see plenty of use this summer, leaving for AR soon and out west this summer. By the way, we are in WI also, near Wautoma.

Joe and Eileen,
Welcome to the group and congratulations on your 179. We just bought our 178 in November and are going to Texas in late March first to Austin and San Antonio then to Big Bend National park and back through Palo Duro Canyon State Park then on the way home. We will be at big bend on 31st of March to the 3rd of April maybe we will see you there.
Safe travels.

Congratulations and welcome! The rear kitchen is what sold us on the 179. We have enjoyed ours. The big trip I want to make is to Yellowstone in 2018. This year has other travel planned.

Congratulations on your new 179. We really like ours and find it much more comfortable than our tent trailer. One of us is currently retired and I'm still working on a second a career but seeing all the retired comments here - not to mention the ones I get from my Roommate for Life- I'm thinking mine will be in the not too distant future.
This year we're planning a trip to a FROG event in Kingston Ont. so really looking forward to that.
Safe travels.

Quick shout out to Boudens:

I grew up in Calgary. Graduated Central Memorial High School, lived in Lakeview Village; played as a kid along the shores of Glenmore Reservoir, hiked at Weasel Head. Skied Banff, Norquay, and at Paskapoo before the big '88 transformation. Worked at the Stampede in my youth. Will always love Calgary. (Oh Canada - I miss you).

Pierre then, Justin now. Full circle, eh?

Glad you're towing a Pod along the Trans-Canada. Keep it safe out there this summer !

Welcome,    My wife and I just picked up our 179 last February.  Just got back from our maiden voyage on Saturday. Two weeks to southern Florida and back to Pa. 3,500mi and the camper worked beautifully we couldn't be happier with it.

I have been to the Canadian rockys before they are beautiful.  Haven't been to Glacier yet but headed out West next Sept.  and it is on our short list.
