Can anyone give me a recommendation on the best wifi range extender assuming most parks have lackluster performance. I am looking for something not terribly expensive, waterproof, wireless, and does not require drilling holes in the roof and running wire. I saw one of those Satellite RPod lookalikes the other day that had a permanent installation on the roof. Seems like a good idea. Thanks.

Wifi extender will not help with poor WIFI signal to your trailer. If the signal is bad to your laptop or phone, it will be just as bad to the extender. So not sure it will gain you anything. With that being said, if you have a good signal, it will 'extend' the range of that signal.

Poor WiFi at campgrounds is not always due to poor signal reception. Most of the time the signal is adequate but the CG's connection to the internet limits the total traffic. With everyone at the CG streaming video the connection slows to useless. There's no fix for that except a cellphone with a data plan.

I find that most often the case at restaurants too. Some of them have AT&T hotspots that my phone automatically connects to and I usually end up turning off wifi to get decent speeds.

We have a 4G hot spot that gets us the connectivity we need as long as there is a cell phone tower close enough to use. Our brief getaways from the office still require us to stay in touch for "emergencies!" (Their definition of "emergency" is quite broad. Sometimes I wish we had forgotten the hot spot...)

I use a Hot Spot on my cell phone. Not to be confused with TV reception and a satellite added to the RPod. Let me know if I am missing something.

Hmmm. Thanks for the input all. Sounds like we may be stuck with slow internet unless we use a cellular connection.
