I paid 695 from the factory. I hate it and don't recommend it. Suggest you use a 10x10 pop up instead. Easier to set up and take down. If you really want it I will sell you mine for $350 plus shipping. Used once for a week. In perfect condition.

what is a 10 x 10 pop up? is that a tent? You indicate it is hard to set up? Is that why you hate it? Will yours fir a 178?

I carry both the rdome and a 12x12 easy-up. The dome is a bit of a pain to set up and take down. I only put it up when we are going to be in one spot for several days. If I could get the easy-up to clear the top of the camper door I'd probably never use the dome but it's not tall enough even with the legs extended full length. So it creates a space of about to feet that is unprotected next to the camper.

We decided against the rdome and went with the Pahaque awning instead. We used it for the first time this spring at Zion Park. I was great. We were there for 5 days. Set up the first time took about 15-20 minutes. Now I can do it in 5-10. We had sun, wind, and even a rain storm. The awning performed great. I would highly recommend. And the price is a little better than the rdome. Of course, we use it for shade, some rdome users use rdpme as another room. Check out the link.

I love the RDome, but I also carry a 11x11 easy-up screen house and use them just like JHoffman. They each have their merits. The Rdome is a bit of effort, but well worth it if we're going to be somewhere all week, and especially if we have the grandkids with us.
Someone asked what an easy-up is. It really takes two people about a minute to set up or take down, and it's just a little screen house. Ours is -- they make easy-up tents and shelters without screens too. Best thing is to Google "Coleman Easy-up Tent",

We're r-dome users as well. It came with our Pod and I saw some of the negative comments on it. We have never found it to be that much of a hassle to put up quite frankly and now for us it is where we spend a lot time in. For travelling and staying one night in a place then no - you probably wouldn't put it up but for anything longer then we put it up. Around here it actually creates attention and we have people stopping by to look at it a lot.
