No your not alone, I have asked a couple of time about my file manager not being available, but have not had an answer yet.

Are pictures currently uploaded going to be deleted sometime in the future? I hope not. It would leave a lot of broken links in my posts.

I'm sending pics to members by PM now, which in my mind defeats purpose of forum. I am a visual guy, and don't like a long paragraph of how to do something. A picture is worth a thousand words.

I am hoping TecknTrek (Doug) or one of the other guru's will clear this up for us.  I have had the same problems, unable to uphold from my laptop.

As I mentioned in another thread, there are a number of free photo sharing sites you can use. You can then simply link to the photos in your posts using the IMG icon or tags. Presumably, anything posted there for viewing here wouldn't be sensitive, so privacy wouldn't be an issue.

Marwayne et al,

Apparently the rules have changed with a new server and host. The server will no longer store images; they must be hosted on another site such as Imgur, Photobucket, etc. It was nice while it lasted but I guess we out grew it. The old links still appear to work. Doug could clarify it for us.

I just found out you can't post PDF's anymore. There is no way to upload them. Is there any way to fix this? If not it is going to impact the information that this site provides.

Sorry everyone, I know I've been largely absent for the last 2 months.  Too many things hitting at the same time, including starting a major kitchen remodel and my father-in-law and I are doing most of the work.

I didn't know about the server change or that we were losing file management abilities.  It looks like existing files and avatars still exist so old links won't be broken.  No doubt too much bandwidth was being used by the files and rpodadmin is footing the bill, so we are fortunate to have what we have.

However, embedding the PostIMG's tool in this forum would have provided the ability to upload (to PostIMG) without having to provide for storage within the forum (see https://postimage.io/mod.php ). Please suggest this as a possible solution that minimizes forum bandwidth while still allowing pictures to be uploaded through the forum.
