Hi all. I'm happy to have found you folks. After tent camping now and then, my DH and I decided to take the leap and get a trailer. We picked an r-pod because, well, they're just better, right?! Bought a gently used 2016 183G last week and are excited about getting out of the city. Hope to spend some time in the woods, dust off the fly rods, pump up the bike tires, buy a few books, grab the dog, and get re-acquainted with life away from the television. We're in Pittsburgh PA and would love to make friends who want to stare at the stars for a change.
Thanks in advance for answers to future questions - we'll have a lot!! Diana and Frank

dianab, Congratulations and welcome to the group! Since you're from Pittsburgh, I have a question. What do you think of Point State Park? My wife and I were thinking of driving out for a Pirate game next year and that looks really close.

Point State Park should not be confused with a real state park! It's a beautiful, grassy area with walkways, a huge fountain, Fort Pitt museum, benches to rest your feet, and nothing more. The view of the 3 rivers is amazing, but you can't camp there, at all.

Welcome to this fine group of podders! May you have many years of enjoyment with your 183G. The only State park we have stayed at in PA is French Creek. A nice park except for the prolific amount of toxicodendren radicans (aka poison ivy) found in close proximity to the campsites. We asked the ranger if we could change our site because of this issue. With the pod centered on the blacktop campsite we had no more than a 30 inch clearance from the poison ivy. We were fortunate that there were a few other spots open with more clearance. Happy camping adventures await!

Welcome. Been to French Creek many times (we have an annual winter campout there), and Codorus is basically our "home" park.
Go Ravens!
