I have an r.pod 179...love the trailer except for the annoying antenna rattle during the night when the wind blows hard...I often camp in places where the wind blows. A friend with a 179 told me he pulled the antenna up and wrapped mastic tape around it...then replaced it and no more rattle. Anyone devised another solution for the problem? Can you see any reason not to do what my friend did with his antenna?

I would think a little silicone RTV sealant would work if you take the bolt out and raise the head, then put a thin bead around the mast. Put the head back on and bolt it back in place. Once the silicone RTV sealant cures, it should be rattle free. A thin bead will mean it will be weak enough so that the sealant line would be able to be broken if the head has to be taken back off in the future.
