Good morning, We purchased a new 180 this year as r and love it. We camped in New York since May and now are going to winterize the camper. Any suggestions on which cover to use?

I believe the 180 is essentially the same as the 179 in door placement and length. If so, the cover for the 179 should fit the 180 as well. We got the https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00VRM05RS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 - Classic Accessories cover. It works well.

Thank you, that is one of the brands that we where looking at, but I do have to check the location of the door to confirm it would match!

The door on a 180 is in the same place as a 179.

I also saw one site where the cover was listed as "179/180." Even though Amazon does not specify 180, it will fit.

From what I understand, the 179 and 180 share the same shell, with different placement if the windows.

We used the Classic cover on our 179 and it works well. Check closely through because the first one we got said it could be used for a 179 but nothing doing. Door was in the wrong spot and it was too small. The replacement went on without any problems - turn it inside out and start at the front. Took two of us a couple of minutes and the cover was on.

We just tested the Classic Accessories PolyPRO 3 R-Pod Travel Trailer cover Model 4 (part # 80-197-171001-00) on our 2016.5 (green) 180 (inc. AirCo & TV antenna on roof) which fit fine.I bought a length of foam pipe insulation 1/2 inch internal diameter to cover any sharp objects (gutters, Dome awning channels) to prevent snagging / tearing.
The zipper door opening is in the correct location.

I have a Classic Accesories cover, when removing it today it tore at points that don't have any stress on them. I have owned the cover less than a year, granted the TV is stored outside in TN, but I really expected better quality. Not happy with buying a new cover every year.

mcarter, your cover should be covered under warranty, mine was. All you need is your invoice and a picture or two of the damage. They sent me a new one right away. I used gorilla tape in the areas where ripples occurred in the old one and have not had any issue with the new cover. Contact Classic Accessories. I found the very accommodating.

Thank you, my issue is I don't want to do that every 6 months. The cover is poor quality. I can understand stress points, but the cover fails at non stress points. My plan is to look for better quality.

Please don't assume that all of them are equally bad. There may have been a bad run of the fabric used. We have one and it is holding up well. A replacement may perform better.
You didn't say what model R-Pod you have. It may have gotten caught on something while you were removing it that normally would not be in a position to tear when it is sitting in place. That is something that can happen. You also did not say how many times you have put it on and taken it off. I have experienced the cover catching on rail edges and corners, even though I have attempted to pad every area where it could potentially snag and tear. In spite of that, I did experience a small tear the last time I removed the cover. It was not serious enough to file a claim. I just put a piece of tape over the snag. That should also help reinforce that place and should help prevent it from tearing worse.

Keep in mind there is the Classic Accessories Polypro, the PermaPro Deluxe (which I ordered) and the PermaPro Heavy duty. So there are several choices.

Stephen, I have a 178, I have put the cover on less than 5 times. I agree I could have received a faulty cover, what happened was I was pulling on the cover and my fingers went thru the material, it was not snagged or hung up. More like the material just was bad. Plan is to ensure I get highest grade cover.

The fabric used for the covers isn't really made for pulling. It is a non-woven fabric and does not have the strength of woven fabrics. Anything that is relatively pointed, even fingertips, can poke through. A heavy-duty cover would, of course, resist this better but would cost more and weigh more. Hopefully, you can find one that is the right combination of strength and economy that will work for you.
