I saw 2 videos on the changes of the rpods being shipped now. Everything looked very good except for the awning. I am glad they are now offering a awning . It is made by Thule which you would assume would be manufactured very well . It looks very inadequate and lightweight the way it attaches to the sides of unit. Forest River needs to use the same awning that is on the Winnie Drop or offer a power awning that is on the Humminbird . This one is going to be trouble.

I agree completely with your observation about the new awning. I can't believe they just didn't move forward with a power awning like on the Hummingbird. Perhaps with feedback they will upgrade with the 2018?

I ordered a 2017.5 with the awning.
Not being a power-awning is OK by me.
But I will comment on the mounting once I've had a change to inspect.

Thank you . I look forward to your inspection. Check out the manual awning that the Winnie Drop uses. I wish Forest River would use this one.

I will also look forward to Bama Pod's evaluation of the awing once he has time to utilize it.

Just watched a vid for a Minnie Drop with awning.
Things about the Minnie awning I do like.
Even if Thule is a little lacking, I still wanted the awning.
Mostly because the Dome looked like hassle to mess with if just an overnight stay.
And for longer stays we plan to get a shelter/tent or something.
But until I get the Pod I cannot yet make a comparison against the Drop.
Stay tuned...
