Hello everyone. We just bought a 2009 r-Pod 172. Towed it over one of the high passes of the Sierras and it did just great, as did our Dodge Dakota doing all the work.

Plan on lots of camping in the area around Carson City, NV, on weekend trips, mostly.

The trailer rides a little low in the back due to unavoidable hitch height. It's a little too close for comfort backing it into the driveway, so today I ordered an axle riser kit from Forest River, which I plan to install myself. Cost: $150+shipping. The local dealer wanted $400 for the parts. I'll report back once it's installed.

If that doesn't do the trick you may want to get a draw bar with more of a drop to it.  The trailer should be level or slightly down in the front for better stability when towing.  Welcome to the group.

You can get a drop hitch.

Thanks everyone for the advice.
I've got a sway bar hitch that is at it lowest adjustment; provided by the dealer.  I think I'll get enough lift to get the front slightly down with the risers.  I also need the ground clearance for Forest Service roads.  If that doesn't do it, it's back to the dealer for some sort of fix.
