Can you direct swap a 15" wheel and tire for the stock 14" wheel and tire on a 179?
Hub size same? Fender clearance adequate?
Anyone done it?

Thanks!
Jack

From what I have read, it seems that any POD with risers can handle a 15" wheels no problem, but now I'm not sure if it can be done on the new "inverted" axle setup. Which axle configuration do you have?

I'm thinking your gain is 1/2", remember PI from school?  Looking at my 178 a 15" wheel and tire will fit, the lug pattern has to match, but I'm thinking what did I gain by 1/2 ", other than a 1/2" inch?  Granted some RPMs on bearing.  Maybe you got some tires and wheels you want to use.

Ready to pull the trigger on a 2017 179 .  Really would like a Hood River Edition but they're not on the East Coast.  I need any additional clearance I can get to clear my goofy driveway dip.  It looks like the only real difference are the 15 inch wheels and tires, so if they can be swapped out, it would help.  Failing that maybe a set of skid wheels would offer protection from bottoming out in the rear.

Thanks for your help!
Jack
