I have had my 179 out a couple of times and was in a real tight up hill, back-in spot in a State park in Maryland. I caught one of the rear jacks on a railroad tie outlining the sight. Needless to say I trashed the jack. I am thinking of removing the rear jacks and using the twist up type on the rear instead. Those things seem to be a target for destruction. I have that problem whenever I try to back into my driveway. It's not very steep, but things just line up wrong. Now, I have my DW stick a piece of 2x6 under the critical tire at the right place and time. With just one tire to block up, it's easy. Having said that, I know that's not a good solution for problem camp sites. Before the Pod, I had the same problem with our Surveyor. On that one, I did take the jacks off and switched to the screw type. They're light weight and easy to use. The only reason I haven't taken the FR jacks off the Pod is the reduced amount of storage room in Pods, plus the ease of raising and lowering the original equipment jacks with a power drill. Even so, I'll probably remove the original jacks and switch to the screw jacks one of these days. ------------- Joan, Jerry and the two Pugs 2015 R-Pod 179 |

TigerPawd, Thanks, I think I am going to keep the front factory stabilizers (I will now have one spare) and use the screw up jacks for the rear end. I do like the ease of using a drill for the jacks. ------------- MDPaddlersPod 2017 RPod 179 2002 Silverado1500 |

I had the problem of the rear jacks scraping the ground in my driveway. I installed these to easily remove them. Works great.
