The top of the tent is supposed to be held in place by a retainer groove, but it comes out. I can put it back in but it falls out soon. Any advice?

I had the same problem. I pulled mine down all the way across and filled the grove with sealant then put it back up again. It has held now for two weeks of use. I'm an aircraft mechanic so the stuff I used was expired fuel tank sealant. I think a good caulk/ adhesive would work too.

Same here. What causes it for me at least is the mattress so I take it out when I collapse the tent. But I looked this morning and its out right now. Its like the guys who work there don't own these so they don't know about it.

The tent really needs a retainer across the top just like it has up the sides. If my sealant doesn't hold up I'm either going to buy a section of retainer from FR. or make one.

Success! I used Clear RTV Silicone Adhesive sealant. And it has been holding for one day. It usually won't hold overnight, and it seems very strong.
For others who want to try it, you first must pop off the buttons on the trim over the retainer, then unscrew the trim. It's not easy to get the tent to slide onto the retainer, and I had to hit it with a hammer to get it on all the way. but the adhesive stays wet for a long time, so don't panic.

Glad it worked out for you. Mine has held for several weeks now. Something else I notice is that te screws that attach the rubber edging on the bed platform was rubbing holes into the tent at the top. To cure that problem I covered the screw heads with black silicon caulking. I caught it in time to stop it from rubbing completely through but it definitely thinned the material.

thanks for the tip. The screws were definitely wearing little holes in the fabric. I covered them with the silicone caulk.
Seems like a lot of pull on that retainer when the tent is closed. I wonder how long my fix will last. I think you are correct, that it needs a metal retainer just like the sides have.
