I have a 2014 RP179 and love it, but while parked a couple of weeks ago, the side egress window slider shattered spontaneously - no thermal shock, no impact, no apparent reason, just shattered into a million tempered pieces.
I taped up a piece of acrylic from Lowes which got us through the trip and when we returned, I contacted Forest River, who told me there was no replacement for the one piece of the window, I would have to replace the entire unit.
Very not cool.
Anyone else have this issue?
Anyone have a source for replacing the unit NOT from a dealer?
Surely this is a stock window that is used in other units and manufacturers?
I have searched the web and can't find it yet.
Approx size is 23" tall by 43 wide
Help!

Would they tell you who made it?  Or is there some ID on the window or frame?  Could you find a spot, like where a BB or pellet could have impacted?

I would take the window to a glass shop, I'm sure they could just replace the piece that broke.  It's just tinted tempered glass.  Glass doesn't typically break for no reason.  Something was stressing it.  I saw a brand new picture window in a house shatter one time because the builder put too much expanding foam around it when he installed it.  The next morning it was shattered, the foam expanded so much that it broke the glass.
