We have a brand new 178. First trip is next week. What do podders use to clean top of slide? Does anyone use a slide cover? What kind?

Slide cover. Otherwise needs to be checked/cleaned before bringing in if you are somewhere stuff might have settled on it.

Small folding ladder (4ft). Concrete push broom, about 12 inches wide. About 6 feet of handle. Does the trick nicely.

A swiffer works also. The disposable cleaning pad gets more than a broom would and can then be thrown away.

That swifter is a great idea. Thanks!

Dr. Greg, even if you were to get a slide cover, you still have to get up there to make sure that there are no birds nests etc starting to be made. In Algonquin park one time with friends who had a slide cover... After 4 days and getting ready to go home... They noticed a bird had started to make a nest under the cover.... So if you still have to get a 3step ladder... take a broom with you and clean the slide top.. Save money on the slide cover... :)

However, a slide cover is for more than just keeping the top of the slide-out cleaner. It also is useful for diverting water and for keeping sunlight from hitting the top of the slide-out directly, which means that the R-Pod should stay a bit cooler.

I liked the idea of a slide-out cover, but not the cost of them. I made my own, which is one of the mods I have done.
