My wife suggested that I make a box up front to store stuff in. We had been using a big canvas tote bag. How much it sticks out from the wall was the next step so we both set on the same side and to come up with a dimension that works for us. It ended being 11” deep at the top, 27 ½’ wide and 14 ½” tall. If someone is sitting next to it their legs touch it, but no worse than when you slide over to far and your shoulder hits the curved wall. I could not find the correct hinge I wanted to use so I used what I had. I wanted the hinge mounted on the underside so you wouldn’t see it. The problem with it there is you can’t open the lid all the way before it hits the wall. I also added 2 cam latches; these are the same ones I used on the pass thru doors so the same key can lock them. Where the hinge is mounted to the wall I used 6-32 thread molly anchors for wall thickness 1/8”-1/4".
