Do you wax the Rpod to help keep it cleaner (bug free) and withstand the weather?  If so, what product do you recommend?  Mine will have covered storage.

I use the Harley Davidson polish, contains a cleaner and bees wax, seems to do a good job.

Regular automotive car wax works fine. I don't do it often (twice in 3 years), it's a huge pain to wash and wax the roof, moving the ladder again and again and again....

I use this spray-on protectant (not really a wax). It seems to reduce how many bugs stick to the trailer. It's not as good as full-on hand-waxing, but I'm too lazy for that. LOL

Interesting this topic would come up today as I just spent the better part of yesterday restoring the finish on my 2010 pod.  I have owned it for 3 years and have applied Nu- Finish  polish a couple of times and not had good results.  The finish on my trailer was oxidized and chalkey.  This time I used Meguiar's One Step Compound #67 applied with a variable speed car polisher and then polished off with a towel.  I tried the Meguiar's last year, but did not have the polisher and did not get good results.  I finished off with a hand applied coat of Meguiar's Premium Marine Wax.  The pod looks shiney and new today.  I am hoping that now if I apply a coat of wax each year that I can maintain the shine. Another side benefit is that the shadow of the  pealing  ring pattern decal  that I removed 3 years is now gone.

We use Awl care by Awlgrip.  Much longer lasting then wax and easier to apply

So, what's the best tool for the job (besides elbow grease)? One of those two handled orbital auto waxers?

Would you clay the Rpod similar to claying a car for the best adhesion of wax?

This is the tool I used, with the Meguiar's One Step Coumpound #67 mentioned above.  You will also need an orange foam cutting wheel, also from harbor freight.  Good Luck..
