The furnaces and AC units on these smaller campers are just going to be noisy I think. I'm not sure there is any way to make them any quieter without the price going up...even if it's possible.

having owned campers for over 40 yrs we have never had one make this much noise

Quite possibly you have. It just wasn't in such a small box. The one in my parents big honkin 32 foot class C is louder, but you can get 15 feet away from it...

This thread (below) discusses replacement options I looked at over the years, and towards the end lists multiple things I did to mine which quieted it down, somewhat.  Still loud by my standards, but quieter.  We left our fan on low overnight which covered up the compressor cycling on/off, and we like white noise anyway.  We put the fan on auto during the day.

It is amazing what you will put up with if you are tired enough.  The last 4-week trip we took in our pod, on the 2nd night the A/C started squealing loudly.  Spent the whole trip like that (turned out I could have fixed it on the road if I got up on the roof, didn't know that at the time).
