Hello from eastern KY! We are new to R-pod not to camping, travel or small RV's. I just bought a lightly used Model 177 and towed it back from WI this week. I'll throw in some observations: Tow vehicle is a 2015 Ford Crew Cab, F-150 Sport w/5.0 V-8. Our old T@B teardrop trailer weighs 1,574#'s dry and MPG is within one MPG towing the R-pod! Seems MPG is more about wind resistance than weight. Side winds are, however, a bit more noticeable with the 177. I have a sway control ordered for less sway. It was never to the point of a being a safety issue, even during some very seriously bad weather en-route home but still a little bit noticeable, thus the small $35 cost to add sway bar is easily justifiable. Only current other plans to modify, etc., the R-pod: -moving the spare to the front & add a bicycle rack on rear -repairing the end trim on the dining bench with different fasteners -adding a Battery Tender pigtail for battery maintenance (I like using the better designed tender brands) -buy another tire cover as originals missing-Whats best for money and service life? -get adj. paint poles to install cover -ideas from here...

Good pick on the 177. Have been very pleased with ours since we picked it up in March 2011. I like your tow vehicle. I have a 1994 F-150 with the same engine although mine has a stick (yours probably doesn't) and has nearly 302,000 miles, so you have plenty of life left in that engine. Welcome aboard my friend. How far are you from Wilmore?
