The door on our 178 is difficult to open and difficult to get to latch when you pull it from the inside.  Seems like it's something to do with the screen door sticking and then the main door sticking to it(?).

Pushing on the door while you pull the latch to open makes it easier to open.   You have to "slam" when pulling from the inside.

Anyone been through this issue?  I've thought about taking the door keeper off and grinding on it, etc., but I don't really feel that's the problem.

I'm sure you just need to adjust the latch plate.

Moving to the pod section.

Also, spray a little silicone or teflon lubricant on the latch and latch plate. That seemed to help me. I didn't have to adjust the latch plate.

One other thing, on the bottom of the door, there is a small, wedge shaped nylon or plastic thing that brings the door into alignment with the door frame when closing.  On our pod, this piece became somewhat dis-attached and was hanging by a sliver. When we tried to close the door, it would jam against the frame, making it difficult to close the door.  I put a piece of double stick tape between it and the door to fix the problem.  We do have to use silicon lubricant on the latch mechanism from time to time

When we picked up our pod I could hardly get the keys to unlock anything and the door latch was hard to work.  A good shot of lube did a world of good.  I don't think FR lubes anything before they go out the door.

Seems like Jim's Law applies.

If it moves and shouldn't: Duct Tape
If doesn't move and should: WD40

I had the exact same problem when I received my pod. I used Dry Lock Lube, which is available at Walmart. Hit all the moving parts, including a shot into the key holes. Mine works like a champ now.
