I was under the impression that you could only make reservations 6 months in advance for state parks in California. Who are you using to make your reservations?

You are correct. No was given incorrect information in the phone which I shared here in the Forum. The EARLIEST we can make these reservations will be October 1, 2016.

Thanks for reminding me I needed to make the corrections here as well.

I have heard a couple different things about when we can register, rest assured, I will be on the ball with this to get the best places we looked at this year. When we have those, I will announce here and on The FB Group Event that reservations are open and suggest those wanting to attend make their reservations to do so quickly and early.

It has been confirmed!  November 1 we can begin making reservations for this park for the May dates.  We have a FB page where we will be posting a list of the campsites reserved by R-Podders, and would like to keep it up to date with anyone on THIS forum as well so we can have an accurate count.

Forest River is curious and may provide some pretty cool stuff for everyone who attends!

So, in order to stay up to date and current with ALL that is happening, I have a request.  If you are NOT on Facebook, please email me through this Forum email so I can keep everyone up to date on the happenings and to make sure we get you on the map and list of Podders coming in May.

I will update the map here in this forum as well, so everyone will have the same information.  We currently have 18 Pods signed up and 17 who are still thinking about it.  This is going to be FUN!!!  You REALLY don't want to miss this Rally!

If you are on FB, please do NOT send me an email as I do not want to count you twice! Embarrassed

May is just a little over 6 months away....it is never too late to begin planning for this fun time!

Once we have our first reservations confirmed we will let you know. We ARE aiming for the Rim Road Loop though. The 4 co-hosts are going to be trying to get the 41-44 spaces. This will allow us to have a "gathering" area, so if you DO happen to jump on and make reservations before us, we would appreciate it if you would not take those, BUT we all have our alarms set and are chomping at the bit now! LOL. So, anywhere in that area will be close by, but honestly, nothing is very far away!

Whew!!!  What a DAY!!!  Unfortunately we were unable to get in the Cul -de-sac as we had hoped, but we DO have awesome spots on the Rim Loop with plenty of room in the center of the camp area to spread out and have fun.  This is the map as I understand it and would like for you to verify here in this post the information I have entered.  If there are more in your party, please let me know their name and their relationship to you...spouse, BFF, Sibling, Child, Parent, etc.  we will need an accurate count so Forest River will know how many of us are attending. 😁

IF you need to cancel, please let us know here first, so we can let anyone wanting to move closer, or further away from the action can have the opportunity.  I am posting On FB too, so this map could grow quickly.

I think I can speak for all the hostesses and for myself, this is going to be an awesome event and we are going to have another successful, relaxing Rally in the Pines with our Pods and their owners!

Pod On!

We would LOVE to have you all close by to the rest of us, so if you are still considering joining us, please make your reservations ASAP and let me know which site you have as well as how many people you are expecting to have with you to join the fun filled weekend!

The Pods In The Pines Boondocking Rally will be held at the McArthur- BURNEY Falls State Park May 19-21, 2017 Reservations can be made online at Reserve America.com. The majority of the others have reserved on the Rim Loop, if you are unable to find a spot on that loop, please let me know before you make reservations, I may be able to get you in on one from another attendee who reserved two spots and may be willing to give one up.

What do  I need to do, to join in the fun?  I assume the date is may in May.  I'm planning a trip to North East Oregon during the same period in May, the rally would be a good start for the Oregon adventure. I have a r-pod 171.

There are no specific sites reserved for the Rally, the park is not involved with the reservations.  We are each responsible for getting a site, we were not able to block a group of spaces just for us, but we have been able to group together mostly on the Rim Loop.

Hello TexanBorn,
Just wondering if it's to late to join your 2017 Rpod rally?
We will be picking up our new 2017.5 179 in about two weeks.
I looked on the site, and it shows all spots reserved on the Rim loop except for the handicap ones.
Is there another area loop where Rally overflow should look to reserve?
Steve

We would love you to come join the fun.  Unfortunately at THAT campground there are no more options other than the handicap places.  If you set up notifications for that campground, as people cancel, you will be notified and hopefully be able to snag the spot before someone else does.  The group who are on FaceBook are also keeping up with who is where and if anyone lets us know they are not coming, we will share that information here as well to avoid the possibility of the spot going to a Non-Podder.

There are other campgrounds in the area where you might be able to get a spot still.  They are both state park and private campgrounds.  I would use RVPARKS or AllStays to see if you can find something nearby.

We currently have 31 Pods signed up with 57 People coming  This is 3 times the size of last years!
IF you decide to come just for the group gathering on Saturday evening, please let me know so we can take that into account.

Good luck!

The soonest we were able to make reservations at the campground is November 1.  We had MANY people waiting by their computers at 10 to 8 a.m. with everything ready to go and just waiting on the 8 a.m. to show up on their computer clocks!  As soon as I see how this year's goes, and see how much interest there is, I will post here when the next one will be.  There has been some talk of trading off with the one that happens in Idaho, but I've also had conversations with people who would prefer to have another one here as well.  SO, the answer is "We shall see and I'll let you know as soon as possible"

Enjoy your new R-Pod...I have had a BLAST with mine and it is only a year old!

As I'm planning and preparing for this rally, I'm curious about the drinking water.  Normally I don't carry much water until I arrive, but looking around, I haven't seen where it is advised to load up near the park. https://www.sanidumps.com/rvdumpscity.php?citynum=7158&city=Burney&cityradius=1 - Sanidumps lists the park water as questionable.   Thoughts?  Responses?

Fresh water-

I bring my own from home but that is because I live nearby and don't mind pulling it that short distance.
If you are coming from Oregon, you will most likely be going through McCloud, their water is good there and I would not have an issue using it if you find a place to fill there, but it is a long distance to haul still. The water at the CG is at the dump station, far enough away from the dumps to not be an issue. People use it last year with no issues. I would just spray the Howe and nozzle really well with a chlorine solution and flush the hose for a good 3-5 minutes before I used it to fill my tank. I plan on using it while I am there for toilets and dishes, and using the CG for showers.

SmileSmileSmileSmile I'm so sorry that I missed this year. right now my cancer is in check (decreasing in size}. I have decided not to sell the Pod at this time. Just short trips. Have a great time at "Pods in the Pines".
