For those of you who bought your RPods far from home and have had to deal with warranty issues (those that require more than a part being shipped) have you had success in finding a local dealer to work on your Rpod?

We are having a heck of a time finding a local dealer that can come anywhere near the price that an out of state (over 10 hours away) dealer is offering us.   Even if we decide to have it shipped, it is still thousands cheaper!  I guess I worry that we will have issues having it serviced locally if need be.

Just wondering what people's experiences have been -

Thanks!
Beth

Only for the Dometic products (fridge and ac unit) by a local Camping World...the Service Manager stated that RPODs are not sold by the dealership and they don't do warranty work on models not sold at the dealership.

We're also in CT and purchased our pod from Ohio 3 years ago and had it delivered to the driveway. I went to Longview in South Windsor when I had a warranty issue and they took care of it, no questions asked.  We didn't buy from Hemlock Hill (Southington) because of the nasty attitude and wouldn't bring it there for service (and he wouldn't service it anyway). Longview has since become an r-pod dealer and their tune may have changed, but they took care of ours when I went in with that brake problem early on. You might want to inquire of them whether they service Forest River products under warranty that weren't purchased there. They used to.

I thought Camping World took anything, based on other's posts here.

If I was you I wouldn't buy it that far because that was my experience and then I ended up taking it to camping world in Las Vegas and they said they would take it I let them have it  sat there a month they never even made a phone call and That was all I needed him to start doing to get warranty work so I went back and picked it up and just dealt with fixing it myself so I recommend not buying that far away  and all the little stuff that it had wrong I just fix myself because it was just too far away to take it back  to the dealer that it was bought from / at the time ther wasn't a dealer close to me there is now  but it's out of warranty.
