Would this be too close to the wheel to mount some 4" square sewer hose storage pvc? Running along outside the frame between the rail and the wheel:

You have plenty of clearance, make sure you attach it well to the frame. We mounted ours under and behind the propane tanks in the front of our 177. Works well and is convenient.

I have a short one installed up there by the factory on our new 183G.
Not sure if one of the 10' sections of my Camco RhinoFlex kit that's coming from Amazon will fit in it. I need to measure its length when I go back to the storage facility. It's the length of the double battery tray on the tongue.
As far as mounting this section to the frame, is it ok to drill into the steel bars or would I want to mount to the upper section - I'm not sure what that material is without going and looking.

Mount it to the frame.

Any updates on this mod, looking at doing the same thing. Most likely going to go with the fence post and gutter mod to slide in and out. I have not been able to get out and look for good spots on the pod yet, but this is one option that I wanted to do.

One 10' section of hose will fit the short hose carrier that comes with the R-Pod. However, you will have to store any fittings separately. I have a small plastic box with lid in which I keep the 90 degree elbow for the sewage dump end, a 45 degree elbow that I use sometimes for the R-Pod end, and a 15' hose to use for black water tank flush. One place had a hose but did not have an end on the hose, so it was good to have my own.
I also am considering mounting a longer carrier, but am considering whether I could fit it where a back bumper would be if the R-Pod had one.

We used the 5" vinyl fence post and mounted it to the frame. We went across the pod and behind the axle. I also mounted a clear plastic box to the vinyl post to hold the 45 degree back flush fitting. The 5" post is large enough for a 15' rhino hose and the 90 degree fitting. I tried to add the gutter for a slide out and it didn't work so well. the post by itself works fine. see the pictures of both of these in my mod page Vann

I put the 64" Valterra holder crosswise on the frame, it holds the 10 foot Rhino hose, a clear staright extension, and the fittings, the factory tube under the A frame has a 5 foot Rhino extension, just in case...

I just ordered the 64" off Amazon. I'm hoping to fit my 20' hose in it, and the fittings will be stored elsewhere.

I just tumbled upon a chest size aluminum tool box for 40$ (SCORE!) so that will be mounted on tongue and now I am planning on mounting the sewer hose storage behind the box. This way its out of the way and looks clean, I'm not keen on the looks of the sewer hose storage or having it hanging beneath frame.

Congratulations. Are you planning on mounting your batteries inside of the tool box? If not, where will you mount the box?

Ill be mounting the batteries inside the tool box along with the cut off switch. Ill have to cut and weld the propane tank holder up a few inches for the box to fit. Also may have to cut out an area for the sewer hose storage to fit in the corner of the box. Its a bit confusing to explain but when I do it, it will all make sense in the end. Right now working on painting the tool box black and ordering the double 30lbs propane tank storage for the tongue so I can measure and see what all I need to do. My only concern is weight. I really need to get that tongue weighing tool to see what my trailer tongue weighs as is before I add all this extra up front. im sure it will be ok just don't want to go over board

I think you should seriously reconsider the double propane tanks. A single 20# tank lasts a LONG time while camping. Unless you are planning really long boondocking trips I don't think you will need that much propane. It adds a lot of tongue weight in addition to all of the other things you are planning. Just my 2 cents Vann

The first time I ran out of propane it was 38 outside with 20+ mph winds, sleet, 3 small kids and 1 unhappy wife, in a popup camper AND it was early morning and no propane to be found as nothing was open for business on the Lord's day in this small town in the UP of Michigan (this was in the mid 1980's). After that I said, "Never again." So we always carry two tanks and funny thing is, we normally will run out during the middle of the night when it is quite cold outside, so I have zero problems carrying an extra tank.

James, I agree, I have had 2 tanks on all my RV's except the MH (1 40#). After 116 days of camping with our 2025 179, one of the 30# tanks went dry. I didn't have to hunt down a propane filling station, just went out outside and put the other tank in service. I do not use the auto throw over reg as I want to know when that one goes dry.

Rather then going to the expense of buying a dual bottle set up and cover I think I'll just carry a spare bottle in the pickup. I already have an extra bottle on hand. It only takes a couple of minutes to swap one out. I love my pod but after looking at the frame I don't think I want to add too much to the tounge weight. I would like to install a small tounge tool box and move the battery inside it where I can secure it better and have a little extra storage space.

Jason, I agree, except my TV is a Jeep Liberty not a PU. The weight felt by the TV is the same whether its on the tongue or in the back of the TV.

If you mount your battery inside the trailer it has to be in box sealed to the passenger compartment and vented to the outside. Wet lead acid batteries will off gas while charging and discharging. None of the battery manufactures will approve of moving a battery into the passenger compartment. AGM batteries used to say it was OK but I do not know of any manufactures that approved of it now. From the Lifeline Battery Owners manual: "Avoid overcharging. All batteries must be adequately vented during charging to avoid accumulations of explosive hydrogen gases. Never install or charge in a sealed container or sealed room."

We store an extra tank in the pod while towing. We put the tank into a milk crate and then use bungee cords to keep it from sliding around. Once we park we just put the tank out by the tongue. No biggie since it takes me less than 5 minutes to swap the tanks.

I have decided if I am going to add any extra weight to the tongue, then it will be to mount the spare on it. I am currently searching threads to see if anyone successfully mounted the spare under the tongue.

I used two L brackets and self tapping screws and mount the honey tube holder to the frame behind the spare tire.

Looks like a great idea. 1.) Would you tell us the clearance from the tube to the ground please? 2.) Do you travel on gravel roads or do any boon docking with this set up?
Cheers,
Duer

Clearance is great, it sits right on top of the spare tire hitch and I used the "L" brackets to bolt onto the tube and then it lines up with the end of the trailer frame to secure it with self tapping screws. Not sure of the distance to the ground at the moment but if you bottom out you will damage the spare tire first if that helps.
