I decided to go ahead and flush my freshwater system (didn't winterize because it doesn't freeze here), and noticed that the low drain points are covered up with the black coating that Forest River uses to seal everything up. Anyone know how to get this black stuff off? I really don't want to replace the drain ends.

just peel it back as far as needed.

Thanks - I finally got it pulled back using brute force. I was surprised that hot water was coming out because the hot water heater isn't turned on, but in any case - the pod is drained...

UPDATE: What a dummy... I left the electric hot water switch on outside. Fortunately I caught it before it sat too long.

It only takes a second to blow the heating element so hopefully you caught it before the WH was fully drained.

Yeah - hopefully I didn't just learn an expensive lesson! I'm going to drain again and test in a bit...

Cheap and not too hard to replace if you did.
