I'm considering purchasing the following solar/motion sensing light.

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B016I3GUYM/ref=psdc_14107631_t2_B016A5C5QA

My intent is to mount over the door with velcro or suction cups (it weighs about 3/4 lb.) and to take off the trailer when mobile.

I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with this or has done something similar.  I'm concerned with the mounting , I don't want to use screws or drill exterior holes.  Also, the brightness of the unit when activated.  Might it become a nuisance to camping neighbors?  Also I'm sure it will be of no value when the dome is up.

I thought it might be most useful for security, especially if boondocking in a parking lot somewhere.

Good idea Don! Might have to add this to my next Amazon order. I think the weight is light enough that suction cups or hooks from Command Products should work.

This thing is bright.   I mounted it over the door using two modified suction cups (modified meaning I remove the hooks and replaced with appropriately sized screws).

It's been holding tight on the pod for a week now with rain and some pretty good wind.

I think this will work really well, and we'll be able to easily remove it when the dome is up and leave on a table or the trailer hitch during the day to get sun if we want to.

Have you tested the "trigger radius"? I would hate to have this go off every time someone drives around the campground.

That will have to happen when it's in the field.
