Hello from Belding, MI..

My wife and I just welcomed our 1st R-Pod to our home and we could not be happier. I do have a question for anyone that can weigh in.

Our RPod dealership offered us a $1,000 Appearance Protection. Is this option worth the money?

Thank you in advance for any assistance you can provide and I look forward to your comments.

"Appearance Protection" is rather vague. I would want them to spell out exactly what that means before I plunk down $1,000.00. Once you know the details, you will be better equipped to decide if it is something you want. You may decide to do the care yourself, or you may decide that it is worth paying to have it done.

Thank you Stephen. It was part of a larger extended warranty that we turned down, but basically was a sealant for the exterior and a scotch guard for the interior. Ultimately I'm sure I can do it myself for a fraction of the cost.

There are a lot of excellent protectants that you can purchase at your local auto parts store or on-line and as you stated "at a fraction of the cost" if you are willing to do it yourself. Save the 1000 samolians and put it in your wallet.

My 2 cents worth here as there are many good choices to protect your investment but I go between using Protect-All (can get it on-line or at an RV supply) and Meguiar's clay bar and polishing kit. Our 2011 pod is still in showroom condition IMHO.
