After our first year of owning our 177 we replaced our back window curtains with a shade that could easily be maneuvered up and down. Now, after 5 years it is time to replace those cheesy metal blinds with something nicer. What have you used to get a similar effect? Want something that has a similar effect as the blinds where you can get air flow as well as privacy if necessary. Thanks.

We had blackout curtains made for all 4 windows.

We did new curtains. tension rod inside valance..

Here are some step by step pics. I use coarse thread dry wall screws.

Since I put a shelf in above the bed in our 179, I don't think I will use the cabinets like you made. However, I think I may try to put something in above the kitchen area. A spice cabinet would be nice as well as a cabinet on which a small vent hood for the stove could be mounted would also be nice. Some of the same techniques you used would be helpful in accomplishing that.
