O.K., here's a topic that will elicit wildly differing opinions .... at least that what my research is discovering; but I need to hear your experiences as applied to R-Pod in particular.
I need to replace the old Mudstar knobby tires on my 2010 177. Should I purchase ST steel-belted or ST beveled tires as replacements? My Pod hibernates at least 4 months in our Montana winters, covered Pod, covered tires but that is a factor. Opinions? Suggestions?

Never heard of anyone using beveled tires anywhere but show or race.. I personally have no issue with steel belted radials on a trailer.

What are beveled tires? Never heard of them.

Darn .... correction. My question should be: What is the preferred tire for the Pod: BIAS-PLY or radial. I guess I experienced a little memory gas in the short-recall department. I don't know where I picked out the term "beveled". So, I will float this question out again.

It is probably the Spell-Check. My computer can come up with the doggonedest replacement words.

AS far as "preferred"..I can only state that the factory puts radials on every pod built. Tire discussions often deteriorate into fist fights, so I am leery of getting into them.

The factory tires on our 177 have 20,000 plus miles and still look really good. They have worn and traveled well, when the day comes to replace, I will probably go with steel belted again unless I hear otherwise to go with plan "B"

On an '11, I would change the tires before the next season. They are 5-7 years old now. No matter how good they look, they are at the end of their service life. The factory tires on '11s are from '10, or earlier. We had one owner at least who had one come undone this summer in the FB group, who found the tires on their '11 were from '09. There is a 4 digit code on them, in an oval, that denotes month/year of build..

Radials are good for a softer ride. Bias have a stiffer sidewall which helps to prevent sway.
