Howdy all!

I've always been a tent, sometimes just a hammock under the stars, kind of camper. My wife and I have been interested in the trailer life as my father in Maryland has a fifth wheel used for multi-week trips 4 seasons a year.

Welp, on 11.26.15 we joined the R-Pod family with our very own 179! We couldn't be more excited and we're taking her on the maiden voyage tomorrow. So excited for this chapter in our lives and it looks like this forum has more than enough information and superb resources for any questions we may have. Thank you ahead of time to the amazing members we've read about so far!

See y'all on the trail!!!!

Thanks all!

Maiden voyage was a complete and total success. Boondock on the Pacific coast, just for a night, but the wife, dog, and myself held up well thanks to the Pod!

Does the 179 come with interior LED lights?  How many days do you boondock at a time?  We enjoy doing that ourselves and find that our battery will last 4 days before it hits the 1/3 level and we change over to the other one.  We have dry camped in Glacier(as well as many other National parks) when the temps were 40 or less at night so the furnace would go one quite a bit, and still the battery would last 4 days

Hello Everyone, my wife and I just joined this forum!  We are going to look at buying a 2016 Rpod this weekend.  Any helpful tips for anyone?  We have no kids but have a big German Shepherd.  We have a Land Rover Discovery II we plan to have tow this.

Have fun shopping.  Many different floor plans available, so you have options.  Regardless of which model you decide upon, you will have made a good decision

Greetings littlegreenman1! My wife and I purchased an 2016 RP179 1 week ago and are looking forward to our first outing. We are not new campers and researched the 179 for about 6 months before making the final decision.

There is just the 2 of us and our retired racing greyhound. She takes up a lot of room but we would not have it any other way.

We are not going to use the provided table but will use lap trays with folding legs while inside. We also have the R-dome and will be using our aftermarket 4-folding-leg table and chairs under the R-dome.

Your LR should be just fine. You MAY want to look at a sway control depending on the roads you might travel.
