Bought the appropriate size cover for my pod off amazon but man... It's a tight fit.

I tossed the box last recycle day when I cleaned the garage now I'm hoping I'm not screwed and it works.

Any tips? Do others that use the cover find it tight as well?

Thanks all.

J

We bought the PolyPro sized for the RP178, model 3 if I recall correctly.  It was tight going on, but fit only snugly when zipped into place.  I managed to get it on by myself with many ladder repositionings (that HAS to be a word!) required.

I had been thinking the length of a #179 was 20' tip to tip, but when I measured for a cover, I got 21'4", including the spare and going all the way to the end of the tongue, which is what is asked for.  Not too surprising, Camping World was no help.

Have any other #179 owners run up against this?  If so, what size is right, 18-20' or 21-22'?  I would rather not waste $30 on the bigger cover if it's not necessary and fooling with a bigger cover doesn't sound like a lot of fun.  I would appreciate any help on this.

I bought the Classic Accessories Overdrive PolyPro III on Amazon for my 182G and it fits great. Not too tight, not too loose. It hangs over the wheel wells and all other parts of the body. It does not cover the tongue nor anything on it.

I store mine inside to hibernate during the winter (which is still in full force here) but would think you would want a tight fit because a loose fitting cover would "move around" and "slap" back and forth against the finish causing blemishes on wear spots; just my 2 cents worth.

None of the pod covers go over the front accessories. Our cover fits fine.

The important anchors are those pictured in front of, and behind the axle.  If "poofing" in the wind is a problem, one can throw a line over the top fore and aft to cut down or eliminate the billowing.  I use that method - the over the cover tiedown anchors - on my hay stacks, and rarely have to chase down a tarp.

I have a 177 and use a #2 size cover (Classic Accessories from Amazon, says it's for up to 18'8"). It is not as tight as furpod's pic, but it's still what I would consider a perfect fit. Personally, I think a really tight cover would stress the seams and material and thus it wouldn't last you as long. But I say, if it goes on and you don't have the box anymore, then use it and don't worry about it!

I've read conflicting sizing information as I've sought a cover for my 182 G.

Did you go with the 18' 8", or the 20' cover for your 182G?
