I wish there could be a floorplan like the 176 but with the standard queen bed instead of the bunk. Reason being is it would be nice to have a window over the dinette which would bring in more natural light when you are sitting in the dinette. Also having a view outside when you are sitting during meals etc. Doesn't seem the window over the bed serves much purpose, you don't need more light when sleeping.

Anyone know the pros or cons of that kind of floorplan?

I understand having a window in the front may have structure or other issues which is why they may have to switch the door to the back third of the camper like the 179 to leave enough room for the bed.

Btw, I live in the PNW and had about 2 inches of rain this weekend, the R-pod stayed high and dry, no leaks...

I absolutely agree about a window above the dinette on the 177! We always keep the curtain drawn over the bed, it's a pretty pointless window. But we have also lamented not having one at the front for dining, etc. My only guess is that a window in front might be more prone to breakage due to flying stones, etc.

Several 178 owners have reversed the floor plan themselves, putting the bed up front and the dinette in the back. It's a pretty straight forward swap, and having seen a couple in person, it works well.

We have the 177   2012 model.   We have windows both sides in front (table) and in back (bed) plus the big one at the back of the pod. Don't see a need to have one in front of pod, as the windows on the sides lets a lot of light in while eating etc.
