Our little dog partially pushed out the window screen - above the bed in HRE 179.  I can't figure out how do take the screen and frame out to repair it.  Any hints?

Do you have to take out the screws that hold the entire frame on the inside?  Does it just pull out, or is there caulking etc on the inside?

I had a similar situation on my 179 and repaired it in place using the screw driver of a small swiss army knife to push the rubber gasket into the grove after stretching the screen. I no I am not explaining this well but the screen is the same as a house screen so if you have ever repaired one you may understand what I'm explaining so poorly.

I hope this helps

There is a special tool for pressing the screen in the channel.  It looks like a small plastic pizza cutter wheel.  Actually, it is commonly a double-ended tool.  One end to push the screen in the channel and the other to press in the gasket.  The screen end has a wheel with a rounded edge and the gasket tool has a concave edge.  It's very simple to do, and the tools are cheap, probably under well under $10.  Get the cheapest one available unless you're thinking of going into the screen repair business.

Search for "screen tool" on Amazon.  $4.90.

Will give it a try.  It didn't look like there was enough clearance.
