I always over do it and use one and a half. I want to make sure I get everything safe.

You'll also want to pour some down the sink(s) and into the shower pan drain in order to displace the water in the p-traps. Better make it 2 gallons.

I've heard that you should clean up any pink antifreeze in the sink or shower pan after you pour some down the traps because it will leave a "sticky mess." But the instructions say to pour some in the toilet bowl and leave it for the winter. Buy two, plan on using a little more than one, and a little more if you have a kitchen slideout like the 177, or a garage model. Outbound is right that you should pour some in the traps, not sure if that is in the instructions.
