I had a rear marker light that leaked water and rusted the connector. The bulb was beyond repair but the light fixture I was able to clean up and repair and install a new bulb. I didn't have any silicone so I used Teflon tape and wrapped it around the outer edge of the fixture base and snapped the lens cover back on. It seemed to have a tight seal, time will tell if it keeps out moisture.

David,

While you're at it drill a small, 1/8", hole in the bottom of the lens. Leaks are inevitable, but not too bad if water doesn't accumulate.
