I have a question about the leveling jack. Is the shaft of the tongue jack supposed to crank up so that it is flush with the bottom of the tube? I really need about 2" clearance there for my driveway and it seems to hang down about 3 inches even when fully retracted. That is the only problem I'm having with my inclined driveway & scraping. We've tried the 2x10 boards and it just takes too much time and too confusing to use them while navigating an incline while at the same time turning in and out of the driveway. If I lift the hitch to the TV, the back end of the pod would scrape so I can't do that..... I need to get it resolved or DH says the Pod is going to storage. Is there a replacement tongue jack that would work? I don't mind spending a bit of money - it would be cheaper than paying for storage. What if I had it cut it down some and just brought extra blocks for leveling when needed??? Is that totally stupid to consider? Any help from all your RVing experience would be appreciated!!! Crystal

Have you considered getting a different receiver with more of a drop or rise so that you get a little more clearance on the leveling jack. The receivers can go from straight, to 2" rise,3!/2" rise 4 " rise ? Just a thought. I got a swivel one. | Wow, Curtis, that is a great piece! What model pod do you have? I see that the lift weight is 1200lbs. Is that strong enough for a 179? I don't really know much about what the manufacturer current set up will lift. That would sure solve our issue. |

I am guessing that the lift weight of 1200 lbs. is plenty. You are only lifting the front hitch and the tongue weight is probably not more than 300 lbs. I have at 177. Curtis ------------- Curtis 2014 177 2001 F150 |

our problem is with a steep/irregular driveway and the stabilizing jacks. We are still pretty new, and have only backed into the driveway twice. The first time went smoothly, although the stabelizin jacks were close to scraping. The second Time, we bent one up pretty good, and wound up removing them to get it in place. Any suggestions?

You can buy mounts that let you remove them between uses. Or just crank them up, stick them under the frame and make them tight. | Shcildpod, our rear stabilizers scrape a tad also but not enough to bend. I bought a pair of "sava jacks" to put on. I haven't put them on b/c it would require one to break the weld on the current bracket and I'm too chicken to try it myself. Or, at least I tried it and didn't even make a dent in the weld lol. They seem super easy to put on though. |

| I ordered a swing jack but was wondering if I should also keep on the factory jack and have someone cut off the bottom of the tube so it will be flush. I guess I'm thinking I might need a backup at some point. Would it hurt the resale value to remove it? I've never been very daring with modifying anything. |

Use the swing-up jack. 3 bolts and the factory jack comes right off - but put them back in the holes to keep rust out of the threads.
