We are planning to buy a 2015 R179 and trying to decide if we want an R dome with it.

One question is does it have a sewn-in floor?

Also what would be a fair price to pay for it. The dealer has asked for
$18,500 With all the options except the R dome.

If we do decide to buy I thought I would offer to pay $18,000 including the R dome and dual batteries.

I doubt if we would use the dome very much.

Have any of you bought the 179 with an awning and not the dome? I have seen one of them set up like this at another dealer.

Our 179 came with the dome.  It is wonderful.  It more than doubles the living space of the pod.  It provides shelter when it rains.  It also provides a bit of privacy.  It is easy to set up and take down--maybe 10-15 minutes each way.  Can't imagine life without it. 18,500 seems a bit steep, but I guess it depends one's location, markets are funny things.

The dome does not have a floor.  A lot of folks put down an indoor=outdoor rug or mat.

We have a 178 with the dome and love it.  It does give you a certain level of privacy and a place to keep stuff out of sight when you leave camp for the day.  That price sounds very good compared to our dealership here on the Central Calif coast.

We preferred using our EZ-ups. Two of them gave us more room, and if it rained I would just wrap clear plastic around them. You can buy an off-brand canopy at Wal-Mart for $80.

Get a quote for your model from Couch's, to see what the best deal will be.

We have the 176t and the R-Dome.
It has no floor and we use that artificial turf(brown) you can buy at Lowes.
I have seen the R-domes separate on ebay for about 600 dollars.
Our R-dome also came with a screen which fits at the bottom of the trailer.
I like the R-Dome, it repels a good rain really well and keeps the flying blood suckers away...if you do have any gaps a citronella candle or two keeps the hoard beat back.
