Hi, we're still shopping - saw some new rpods today, not sure which one might suit us best. The ones we'd hoped to see were already sold...so still thinking.....

Anyway, this may sound silly, but we have a question:  Where do you store your dirty laundry in your rpod?

In our old trailer, we had a collapsible bag which sat in the shower (which we didn't use as a shower). It was out of the way, but still accessible.  We could do this in an rpod, but then wouldn't be able to use the toilet. This would be a problem. Can't rely on under-bed storage - we camp in areas up in the mountains, etc, where it gets chilly at night and we'd need to run the furnace.  Any ideas/suggestions?

We have two rather large, open mesh, breathable bags with drawstring tops.  On the outbound leg they contain bed and bath linens.  Once we are set up, one of them gets looped over the shower head in the bath and gets filled with dirty clothes.  (We seldom use the shower either...)  It doesn't get in the way of using the toilet.

We use a mesh bag also, we store it in the back of the van.

We use a bin that we shove under the bed of our 177.  Caveat:  That's also where the furnace is, so be sure to move it before turning on the furnace!

We use a laundry bag with draw strings and hang it from the valet and let it rest on the corner of the bed.

Laundry bag under dinette table. It works for 3-4 day weekends. I make a lot of dirty clothes (mountain biking) and showering , so towels, washcloths, and dirty bike clothes. I don't know if I could go a whole week, except by putting some of it into the TV (stinky).

Maybe inside the microwave oven-- if it's not plugged into power, on shorter trips?  If you put enough dirty laundry up in the low front of the pod it will help off-set the weight of the water in the fresh water tank and it should tow better and you might not need a sway bar.  It all depends upon your size and how often you change..... Go commando pod and save space!    Wink
(Ours goes into a breathable laundry bag in the back seat of the pickup truck).

Thanks for the replies!  It's amazing how much dirty laundry 3 people can produce on hot summer days when out hiking, etc, and I don't think storing dirty stuff in our tow vehicle would go over so well. Hmm....perhaps we could keep it in the r-dome...... it might keep the mosquitos away!  (and the neighbours.......!  ;-)  )

I usually seek out someone in the campground who has a big motor home or 5th wheel with a washer & dryer ask them if they mind if I do some laundry.  Most don't care and in many cases they do it for me.  I'm suspecting they are just jealous of our RPod.  Give it a try next time.  It's a great way to meet people and great first impression.

In the 179, there is a dinette cushion that removes for 'secret storage.' That's where our laundry goes in a mesh bag. We fold things compactly.
