No matter if the blue blacklight is on (bright or dim) or off, the display on our Jensen stereo in our 179 is completely unreadable. Is this normal? I put it on our punch list for the dealer and they dismissed it as a feature. :/

Normal? No. I'm not sure about the 179 cuz I have a 178. If you are not looking right, that is level and at the correct angle, it's difficult to see. Some people have cut and mounted wedges of wood to angle the down so shorter people can see it. Taller people don't seem to have a problem.

No, this isn't normal.  Mine is readable... and I've even played with the different brightness levels.  Sounds like that's a legitimate "fix" for your dealer.

Thanks everyone. I feel comfortable asking for a replacement now.
