Hello from Northern California,

Been lurking on this forum for some time now.  Wow!  Tons of good information for Pod owners or Pod wanna be owners.  Actually started looking at the Rpod last September and discounted it as too small and lacking features like a walkaround bed and a "dry" bath.  However, over the winter we thought more about it and determined ease of towing, for both of us, was a really important consideration and the other so-called deficiencies weren't so bad.  So - decided to buy a 178 or 179.  Finally settled on the 179 due in part to many of the discussions on this forum.

But - had to sell a boat first.  Sold the boat in late May and finally had room to store the Pod next to the house.  Anyway, to make a long story a little shorter we picked up our Pod on Friday.  It's been next to the house and I'm going through and testing every system but the air conditioner.  No 30 amp service at the house yet.  So far so good.

Bought from Pan Pacific RV Center in Sacramento. I'll write up comments in the next day or so and post in the Dealer Section of the forum.

Looking forward to getting this Pod out camping.

Welcome!

Two places relatively close for a weekend trip to test all the features in the pod is Clio River's Edge and Truckee River RV Resort. They are very newbie friendly RV parks. Be prepared for people to want to check out the pod.

179 Pod owners here.  per "podenvy" keep your counters clean and bed made cuz people are very curious about the pods!  Interested myself to see what upgrades the 2016 have over the 2015s.

Welcome.  You can plug your pod into a 15 amp outlet - as long as nothing else is on that circuit - and run your A/C.  Just don't run the microwave or the electric element on the water heater at the same time.

Thanks Doug.  Got your message and first thing this morning ran out to the pod and started the AC.  Nothing else running on the 15 amp circuit and it worked great.  All systems are now "GO".

I swear I've read everything on this forum at least twice and did not have that understanding.  Thanks again.

We just purchased our 179 yesterday from All Seasons RV in Streetsboro, Ohio.  Having a hitch installed on 2015 Toyota Highlander.  Hoping to pick in up Friday and go camping the following week (since my wife is off work).  Going to Holmes County (Amish Country).  The last time we were there we were in a Damon Astoria Pacific Diesel Pusher.  Some adjustments will need to be made.  We'll let you know how we do.

Yes, I'm able to open the back while hitched to the trailer.  Are you having a problem?
