Hi Folks,
We just bought a 176T "pod palace"
It will have the r-dome too but I don't know how much we will be using it here in South/North Carolina and Tennessee. With all the quick windy thunderstorms we have in the summertime I wonder if it would get wrecked if we left it unattended if a storm rolled in. I may look into getting an awning for it...something that is quicker at putting out and taking up.

We looked at many campers from Casita's to Starcrafts but the pod was the favorite!!
We really like the hybrid version for the little extra bit of room it offers and use the top bunk as a general area to dump things while vacationing.

Now I have to suffer until after aug 7th for arrival!!!

WE will take it on a weekend shake down cruise when it arrives!
We will tow with either a ford edge or a f150...looking forward to some podding around!!!

We had our r-dome set up the 1 st year we went to Rodanthe ,NC, we had a few storms and the dome did okay for most of it when the winds started getting up to 20- 25 mph we took it down.
They are pretty rugged but we didn't want to push it.

Thanks for the info! We spend some time at Oak Island NC and I was concerned about the wind taking the R-dome away.

The 176-t is coming from Iowa and should arrive around the 7th-9th of Aug. I will get some photos posted when it arrives.

Fromm gathering bits and pieces of info the 176t is rare out west because of big bears.

Thanks!
Gavin

I don't know that it's anything to do with bears, it's mainly I suppose because the dealerships here carry the models made at the Oregon plant, and the 176T is only made at the other plant, from what I've been told.  My dealership said I could get a 176T, but it would be a special order, and I'd have to pay extra for additional shipping, etc.

Hi CF,
Ok that sounds better than what I gathered.
Our 176T is coming from Cheyenne camping center in Iowa, their prices were about the best I could find...I did look at Couches and by the time I added this and that to make them even in options, it cost more. Even when I added shipping from Iowa and Couches from Ohio, it was Cheyenne camping center which won out.
I did contact the local R-pod dealer ( Bob Ledford's) in Greenville SC, they said it would take 6 weeks to get the 176t...groan
