new 179 owner need information for the following two projects

1.  12 Volt outlet   where do I  find wires to splice into 

2.  Where to mount progressive hardwired EMS  If I mount it in pantry above power distribution panel
do I cut the bottom shelf out to get to power cable?

First, for full disclosure, I do not have a 179 so I can't speak from direct experience. However I did have a 172 and they're pretty similar. That said, the best way to add 12V outlets is to wire to one of the unused fuse positions in the power panel. If your power panel is below the pantry, from the FR floorplan I'd say you could run wires from the panel, under the bath, through the wardrobe, and under the bed. There should be a removable grill under the shower to allow access. Use #12AWG wire for both positive and negative (red and black preferred). Add a 15A fuse in one of the unused slots and wire the positive to it. Connect the negative to the DC ground bus behind the converter.

Can't help with the surge protector since that becomes very model specific. There may be room behind the converter. Maybe someone with a 179 will jump in here.
