I'm having trouble with my water pump in the 178. This is our first time primitive camping. Our water tank is full, and I turned the pump on. However, when the water comes out it sputters really bad and does not come out flowing correctly. I have checked to see if the lines have the air out but it doesn't stop sputtering. What am I doing wrong?

Sometimes ours sputters for quite a bit before all the air gets out.
Are you bleeding both the hot and cold faucets?

Make sure the valve that for adding antifreeze is closed.  That is how the system acts if it is open.

This is the first, and most probable thing to check. It's also possible, though doubtful, that the water heater is purging.. But if you have used it for hot water before, and not drained it..

Where is that valve located so I can check to see if it's open?

It will be very close to your water pump and will be connected to the input (suction) side of the pump. It will probably have a short piece of hose connected to it that doesn't connect to anything.

To add to Charlie's...on my 178 it's just behind the panel below the sink cabinet - four screws.
