I had a spare maple cutting board that isn't getting used so I cut a couple 2" strips off it and screwed them to the bottom, added 4 rubber bumpers for feet, and voila:  |

Nice. I bought a 16x20 cutting board from Wally World and screwed in 4 door stops (things that screw in the wall behind a door in your house) to the bottom side of it to put over the burners.
