Black Hills Wild West Pod Fest - July 15th and 16th 2016! Now taking reservations. So here it is folks, we've locked in the dates for next summer and the campground hosts (my sister and brother in law) are ready to take reservations. This was the best week available next July when the campground was not overlapping with other large groups already booked. The campground has 55 sites with a mix of full hookups, electric and water and dry camping. As a bonus, there are also cabins and some on site RV's for rent as well for anybody who may want to attend but not pull a pod long distance. We have also secured a 10% discount for camp sites. Rental cabins and campers not included. Just tell them you are there for the Rpod rally. The sites are of course first come first serve so make your reservations early! Come for the weekend, stay for the week and enjoy the Wild West in the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota. Visit Mt Rushmore, Devils Tower, see Crazy Horse being carved. Visit historic Deadwood and the saloon # 10 where Wild Bill Hickok was shot holding the dead man's hand. See Mt Mariah cemetery and Seth Bullock, Calamity Jane and other Wild West characters are buried. And don't miss out on some of the best scenic drives, mountain lakes, hiking, biking and fishing you will ever see. Currently we already have 39 confirmed Pods with reservations so the hookup sites are going quick! Get your reservation in soon!

You should join the r-pod owners group. Great group of folks. There is an event section in the group where u can join the wild west pod fest event and stay up to date with all the planning.

Glad your wanting to join up! Will be a great rally. We have two campground swere using, the Fish'n'Fry and hidden valley. The Fish'n'Fry is the primary and hidden valley is secondary, but it's literally right across the street. I know Fish'n'Fry is booked full and taking wait lists so I recommend calling them and getting on the wait list in case we have cancellations over the winter. But in the meantime book a site at hidden valley. They still have lots of sites available. That way your assured of being able to attend. I think we have 4 or 5 pods at hidden valley already so it will start to fill up. And if your on Facebook join the pod owners group and then inside that group join the wild west pod fest event to stay up to date on all the rally news. Hope to see u there. Welcome all! If your thinking about attending the wild west pod fest next summer, the primary campsite is full and has started a wait list. Please feel free to book a site at hidden valley and come join the fun. But be advised, its starting to book already. Boom soon to make sure u get a site. The black hills are a prime vacation destination and books months in advance.

WELL, within an hour of confirming reservations to stay at Hidden Valley we traded our RPod for a larger trailer. Still a Forest River product but NOT an RPod. Since we'd already made the reservation and were looking forward to the trip we have decided to make the trek anyway. Maybe we will meet some of you! And I suppose this is my last RPod Forum participation. Learned a lot about travel trailer camping from y'all. Hey McPod - I was just looking at your site you made for the rally. I've submitted resv requested with campgrounds (as well as Creek Side) Are there any planned events for r-pod rally go-ers on Sat or Sun? We might be able to make it - we live just 2 hours north of Deadwood and make it to the hills at least 6 or 7 times a year - so we will not partake in usual tourist stuff. Ed, I sent you an email with the plans. Most meal time activities on fRoda and sat night. Nothing during the day as most folks will be out touring. Lots of social time at night though. Mitch, I don't do much mt biking. Only on the Michelson trail which is flat maintaindd scenic riding. Great scenery but not hard core single track. ACME Bikes in Rapid City is also a great place for information about more serious Mountain Biking. Right in Rapid City there is Hanson Larsen Memorial Park, http://www.hlmp.org/. Since I found out about this just a few days ago is it okay to come on over and wander through and check out all the pods and podders. My wife and I bought ours last summer and have been out a couple of times. just happened to be near the wild west pod fest in july 2016 while visiting mount rushmore. any wildwest podfest going on near colorado in 2017..many pod mods performed this winter, door window, single leg dinette, swing arm light. furnace diflector, pics to come soon..snowing today but 60 by thursday. chomping at the bit to go camping!! ------------- 2016 179pod--BETTY 2010 nissan frontier Sean and Doug Butchie the morkie touring the west |
