Hello everyone. Ive been trying to decide on a light weight travel trailer for some time now and I think Ive narrowed it down to a Pod.  I like the 178 set up.  Ive tried to find every light manufacturer out there and the Pods look like the best bet.  Earlier I looked at the MPG and Heartland Edge but those arent made any longer and Id like to buy new.

It seems that the importance of choosing the right dealer is a BIG DEAL.  Does anyone have suggestions for a dealer in the Washington State area?

Thank you.

Tom

Welcome! We are newbies also and love our 2015 178, good choice!

Sorry, No Dealer recommendation since we are on the central California coast.

I suggest you call or visit Blue Dog RV in Post Falls, Id, or their other locations in your area. You will want to be talking Hood River edition, although I doubt that they have the east coast models. Good luck.

Thanks everyone. Yes, the Hood River is what I want.  With my diesel Jeep Liberty I figure I can get close to 30mpg towing the little bugger.  Makes traveling about affordable.  [

Any thoughts on used vs. new?

Joe, I see you're in Cle Elum, so your closest Rpod dealer would be Poulsbo RV, I think in Kent or Puyallup.
Another trailer you might consider is the Lance 1585, I think is the model number.
You're gonna spend a bit more, but the quality is excellent.  It all comes down to which features and floor plan you prefer.
I like the Lance, but my local dealer wouldn't negotiate on price, so I went with the Rpod.
BTW....good luck with your MPG estimate....   :)

Thank you.  LOL, I rented a Uhaul car trailer and towed my moms BMW (5100lbs) down to Arizona for her. On the trip I averaged 27mpg.  Now, with a much lighter Rpod I should get close to 30mpg.

Welcome, good luck with your MPG, don't forget you will be pushing a lot more wind with the pod verses a car on a flatbed.

I think Blue Dog RV is in Tri-Cities also, all of the Rpods they carry are the "Hood River Edition".
Plus you get the "free" lifetime warranty.....lol....!
