1000 watts at 120 volts is just 8.3 amps, so even a 14 gauge 100 foot extension cord could handle that by itself. If you're also running the refrigerator and AC, then you need a 20 or 30 amp cord. ------------- "Not all those who wander are lost." Tolkien 2014 Hood River 177 2005 GMC Envoy XL |

Yes, even with the big cord.. you only have 30A to use, couple of heavy draw items at the same time and you will open a breaker. My wife has been known to get out of the shower.. water heater is in recovery mode, a/c is on, fridge on a/c and I was just in it getting out breakfast stuff.... and she plugs in her blow dryer... Usually only happens once per outing.  But does happen almost every time.  ------------- |
